- Key Responsibilities
- Value Engineering & Component Engineering
- Drive end-to-end VE/CE projects from ideation through implementation.
- Identify cost reduction opportunities in:
- Control systems, Cabinets and enclosures, I/O systems, Third-party hardware, Mechanical assemblies and electronic assemblies
- Develop engineering proposals focused on:
- Design simplification, Component substitution
- Supplier changes, Standardization
- Platform reuse, Part count reduction
- Perform cost-benefit analysis and ROI calculations for VE opportunities.
- Hardware Engineering
- Review system architectures, electrical schematics, BOMs, layouts, and design packages.
- Evaluate alternate hardware technologies and sourcing options.
- Conduct technical feasibility studies and impact assessments.
- Support design validation and qualification activities.
- Identify opportunities for:
- Architecture optimization
- Modularization
- Reuse strategies
- Simplified deployment models
- Ensure compliance with applicable standards and certifications.
- Component Engineering & Lifecycle Management
- Analyze electronic and electromechanical components for:
- Obsolescence risk, Supply chain constraints, Alternate sourcing opportunities and support: Dual-source qualification, Component standardization, Approved vendor strategies, Lifecycle extension initiatives
- Collaborate with sourcing teams on supplier transitions.
- Collaborating with cross functional teams
