Description
Edgesource Corporation is seeking a Microsoft SQL Server DBA to join our project team in Washington, DC to monitor and maintain SQL Server databases that support our government client.
Candidate will be ask to perform the following duties:
Monitor and proactively maintain a multi-server environment consisting of SQL Server 2005 and 2008 servers on both Windows 2003 and 2008 platforms in production, staging and laboratory environments
Assist with certification and accreditation as well as security remediation for various business applications with a focus on database related tasks
Develop and implement improved processes for server maintenance, back-up and recovery, fail-over and clustering
Meet with both internal and external teams to gather requirements for upcoming database needs, implementation of those requirements, testing and monitoring for specific functional and performance targets
Maintain documentation for maintenance processes, server configurations (both how to configure and current configurations)
Supports data calls and specific applications as needed from both the database and application server standpoint
Position Requirements
Candidate must have experience with the following:
2-3 years of SQL Server database administration, performance tuning, clustering and security
Create/maintain SSIS packages
Troubleshoot client/server, linked server connections
