Sponsored Programs Assistant

Responsibilities

• Reviewing, compiling, and updating budgets (skill in Microsoft Excel required)
• Researching funding opportunities in various areas including but not limited to STEM, healthcare, and the arts
• Drafting written briefs of grant opportunities to eventually be shared with SHU faculty and staff
• Proof-reading drafted grant proposals
• Reviewing drafted grant proposals to confirm all questions have been answered and all requirements have been met
• Processing financial forms
• Data entry
• Corresponding with faculty, staff, and students via email, telephone, and in person with professionalism
• Other duties and projects as assigned

Job Requirements

• Must be highly organized, detail oriented and motivated to learn
• Must be able to handle confidential information with discretion
• Must have excellent communication skills
• Must have excellent spelling and grammar, and an especially talented eye for spelling and grammar mistakes
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite software (Word, PowerPoint, Excel); access to Microsoft Office Suite is required
• Positive attitude and work ethic
• Candidate must be conscientious and reliable
