Role Overview
Rafed is seeking a Buyer or Specialist in laboratory consumables procurement for its Abu Dhabi team.
The role focuses on laboratory consumables, diagnostics, healthcare supply chains, strategic sourcing, and commercial value creation.
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in biomedical sciences, medical laboratory sciences, biotechnology, pharmacy, biomedical engineering, or a related healthcare discipline.
- Hands-on experience in procurement, sourcing, or commercial management of laboratory consumables, diagnostics, reagents, and laboratory equipment.
- Experience in healthcare organizations, hospitals, laboratories, or healthcare distributors.
- Strong technical and clinical understanding of laboratory products and testing workflows.
- Ability to identify opportunities, negotiate effectively, and drive cost savings without compromising quality or patient care.
- Ability to identify sourcing opportunities, develop competitive procurement strategies, and improve supplier performance.
- Proactive, commercially aware, analytical, and able to work independently in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Strong stakeholder management, negotiation, and communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Lead strategic sourcing and procurement activities for laboratory consumables and diagnostics portfolios.
- Analyze market trends, supplier capabilities, and emerging technologies.
- Develop sourcing strategies that optimize cost, quality, and service levels.
- Drive value creation initiatives and measurable savings across procurement categories.
- Collaborate with laboratory teams, clinicians, suppliers, and stakeholders to ensure uninterrupted supply and product standardization.
- Support technical evaluations, supplier assessments, tender activities, and contract negotiations.
