- Provide technical guidance on HSE policies, procedures, and standards across projects and operations
- Interpret and implement local, regional, and international HSE regulations
- Act as subject matter expert for process safety, risk assessments, and incident investigations
- Lead and participate in hazard identification studies (HAZID, HAZOP, JSA, etc.)
- Conduct risk assessments and recommend mitigation measures
- Monitor critical risk controls and ensure effectiveness
- Ensure compliance with company HSE management systems and regulatory requirements
- Support internal and external audits, inspections, and certifications
- Track and close out audit findings and corrective actions
- Lead or support incident investigations using recognized methodologies (e.g., RCA, TapRooT)
- Identify root causes and ensure implementation of corrective and preventive actions
- Analyze trends and provide recommendations to prevent recurrence
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Safety, Chemical, Mechanical, Environmental, or related discipline)
- Professional HSE certifications preferred (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, CSP)
- 15 18 years of experience in HSE roles, preferably in oil & gas, construction, or industrial sectors
- Strong experience in process safety and risk management
- Experience in large scale or high risk operations is highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of HSE regulations and international standards (ISO 14001, ISO 45001)
- Expertise in risk assessment techniques (HAZOP, HAZID, SIL studies, etc.)
- Incident investigation and root cause analysis capabilities
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to influence and drive safety culture

Job Title
- Specialist HSE Technical Engineer
- KBR is growing its Project Management Consultancy (PMC) team for an exciting, high profile offshore development in Abu Dhabi.
- The ADNOC PMC project role would be based initially in Client or Contractors Office in Abu Dhabi and later move to an ASIAN location for the FEED phase.
Key Responsibilities
