Role overview
The role is a Senior Specialist position in mechanical design engineering and automotive product development.
The position supports automotive safety technology through design, engineering change, validation, and production-launch activities.
Experience and education
- Six to eight years of experience are specified.
- A B.E., B.Tech., or M.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering is specified.
Required tools and skills
- Required design tools include CATIA V5, PTC Windchill, and Creo Viewer or Image Nation Viewer.
- CATIA V5 work includes part design, surface modeling, assembly design, drafting, structural analysis, and kinematic simulations.
- The role requires GD&T, drawing interpretation, manufacturing-process knowledge, PDLC, PLM, reverse engineering, and tolerance analysis.
- Working knowledge of automotive regulations, industry standards, and customer requirements is required.
Responsibilities
- Design automotive components, tooling assemblies, jigs, fixtures, and test devices using CATIA V5.
- Create and modify 3D models, assemblies, and manufacturing drawings.
- Manage engineering changes, product data, documentation, and PLM processes.
