Sous Chef - Pastry Kitchen

Position Summary

Kitchen Operations

• Supervise cooks and kitchen workers and coordinate daily activities.
• Determine food presentation and create decorative displays.
• Ensure correct portions, arrangement, and garnishing.
• Monitor prepared food quantities and communicate specials or unavailable items.
• Prepare special meals or substitute menu items.
• Assist kitchen staff and provide needed supplies or ingredients.
• Monitor food and kitchen supply stock.
• Maintain food safety and product logs.
• Check food quality and report products that fail specifications.

People and Guest Support

• Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluation, counseling, discipline, motivation, and coaching.
• Address guest service needs and communicate clearly and professionally.
• Maintain positive working relationships and support team goals.

Preferred Qualifications

• Technical, trade, or vocational school degree is preferred.
• Four to six years of related work experience is preferred.
• At least two years of supervisory experience is preferred.
• No license or certification is specified.

Workplace and Physical Duties

• The role is not remote and is based at the Airport Road property in Dubai.
• The position requires extended standing, sitting, or walking and physical movements including bending, twisting, reaching, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling.
• The role requires moving objects weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance.

Safety and Standards

• Follow company safety, security, confidentiality, appearance, and asset-protection policies.
• Report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe working conditions.
• Complete required safety training and certifications and maintain clean, professional personal appearance.
• Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards.
