Sous Chef

We’re looking for a Sous Chef to join our FEGO team in Beaconsfield .

FEGO is a daytime-only business , so there are no late-night finishes or closing the kitchen at midnight.

We do require weekend availability as these are some of our busiest days, but working at FEGO gives you a much better work-life balance than many traditional hospitality kitchens.

We’re a busy neighbourhood café and restaurant serving breakfast, brunch and lunch, with a big focus on fresh, quality food.

Our food is cooked from scratch using fresh ingredients, and we’re proud of the dishes we serve.

Our restaurants have a large and loyal group of regular guests, so when service gets going, our kitchens are busy, fast-paced and full of energy.

We work hard, but we work together.

FEGO is one team – there’s no FOH vs kitchen divide here.

Everyone plays their part in creating a great experience for our guests.

As Sous Chef, you’ll be the Head Chef’s right hand , helping with the day-to-day running of our Beaconsfield kitchen and stepping up to lead the team in their absence.

You’ll be hands-on with daily prep and service, making sure dishes go out quickly, consistently and to the standard our guests expect.

Good organisation, forward planning and the ability to stay calm during a busy service are key.

Alongside cooking, you’ll support the Head Chef with ordering, stock management and rotation, food safety and health & safety compliance, kitchen standards and developing the wider kitchen team.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced chef ready for more responsibility, or an existing Sous Chef looking for a role with a better balance while still working in a busy, fresh-food kitchen.
