The Sourcing & Development Engineer – Non-Metallics is responsible for identifying, evaluating, developing, and managing suppliers for non-metallic materials and components. This role bridges engineering, procurement, quality, and suppliers to ensure cost-effective sourcing, technical feasibility, quality compliance, and timely product development.
The ideal candidate has strong technical expertise in non-metallic materials (Plastics, Rubber/Elastomers, Painting process, Seatings etc.) combined with strategic sourcing and supplier development capabilities.
The Sourcing & Development Engineer – Non-Metallics is responsible for identifying, evaluating, developing, and managing suppliers for non-metallic materials and components. This role bridges engineering, procurement, quality, and suppliers to ensure cost-effective sourcing, technical feasibility, quality compliance, and timely product development.
The ideal candidate has strong technical expertise in non-metallic materials (Plastics, Rubber/Elastomers, Painting process, Seatings etc.) combined with strategic sourcing and supplier development capabilities.
Identify and evaluate new suppliers for non-metallic components and raw materials.
Conduct supplier capability assessments and technical audits.
Cost breakdown analysis, and negotiations.
Drive cost optimization initiatives (VA/VE, alternate materials, localization).
Collaborate with R&D and design teams in material selection and feasibility reviews.
Support prototype development and validation of non-metallic parts.
Familiar with Injection mould Tooling development and manufacturing process.
