Job Description

  • A reputable financial technology company seeks a high caliber Solutions Engineer to own the functional backbone of its client implementations.
  • The role sits at the intersection of business analysis and functional engineering, translating client needs into platform capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with clients to gather, structure and validate business and functional requirements.
  • Map client requirements to platform capabilities, identifying what is supported natively, what requires configuration, and what represents a genuine gap.
  • Draft and own the Business Solution Document (BSD) including platform configurations, workflow definitions and integration specifications.
  • Own the configuration of the platform for each client implementation, translating approved BSDs into live, working system setups.
  • Conduct and assess hygiene testing on the initial environment, approve configurations and manage handover to client.
  • Validate that configured environments meet agreed functional requirements before any client facing demonstration or UAT session.
  • Support SIT, UAT and client demos, prepare and run functional demonstrations, support client throughout UAT, and help triage, track and close defects.
  • Proactively identify gaps between client requirements and current platform capabilities, document them clearly with business impact and proposed resolution.
  • Coordinate with Product and Engineering teams to communicate gaps, agree on feasibility, and track resolution through to delivery.
  • Set clear, honest expectations with clients on platform capabilities, articulating what the system can do out of the box, what requires configuration effort, and what is outside current scope.
  • Present solution designs and BSD outcomes to client stakeholders, walking them through functional decisions and configuration rationale.
  • Manage client side functional queries throughout the implementation lifecycle.

Role Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Business or a related field.
  • 4–7 years in a functional consulting, solutions engineering, business analysis or implementation role within fintech, banking technology or enterprise software.
  • Hands on functional experience with the lending module (loans or cards) is required.
  • Hands on experience writing Business Solution Documents or Functional Specifications.
  • Solid functional understanding of at least one financial services domain: payment rails, collections, disbursements, reconciliation, card issuing or lending workflows.
  • Ability to read and interpret API documentation.
  • Comfort working across both business and technical domains.
  • Systematic approach to gap analysis.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Confluence, Jira, Figma.
  • Clear, direct communicator; detail oriented and structured; collaborative by default.
  • Arabic native and very good English command.

Role Boundaries

  • Not expected to own or manage project timelines.
  • Not expected to consult clients on market strategy or industry best practices beyond the platform's scope.
  • Not expected to drive technology architecture decisions.
  • Not expected to independently develop or deploy code.
  • Not expected to conduct market analysis or competitive positioning for clients.

Nice to Have

  • Experience configuring SaaS or API driven platforms.
  • Prior experience at a fintech infrastructure, core banking or payments platform company (e.g., Temenos, Mambu, Checkout.com or similar).
  • Previous experience as a functional or techno functional consultant.
  • Familiarity with SAMA regulatory frameworks and GCC compliance requirements.
  • Experience working in a startup or scale up delivery environment.
  • Arabic language proficiency.
  • CBAP, CCBA or any Agile/product certifications.
