Software Test Engineer (ETL tester - python, pyspark, SQL, databricks)

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance automation frameworks using Playwright or Selenium, Python, and SQL.
• Build scalable automation frameworks and test suites across technologies.
• Maintain test plans, procedures, scripts, and integration tests.
• Execute and debug automated tests and perform manual testing before automation.
• Maintain continuous build and deployment pipelines with quality and development engineers.
• Deploy application components through CI/CD pipelines and build monitoring utilities.
• Collaborate with Agile teams, Operations, Infrastructure, Tech Ops, and clients.
• Research tools, provide technical guidance, and support software documentation.

Qualifications

• 3-8 years of applicable software engineering experience.
• Strong UI and services automation testing fundamentals with Playwright or Selenium, Python, SQL, database testing, and cloud technologies.
• Expertise testing front-end, services, and backend web application layers.
• Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks and API microservice automation.
• Strong technical skills in Playwright, TestNG, Python, SQL, and Java.
• Experience with UI and services functional validation and SQL.
• Experience with GitHub, Kubernetes, Jenkins, and Docker.
• In-depth knowledge of QA methodologies, lifecycle, processes, principles, and best practices.
• Minimum B.S. degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

Preferred skills

• Backend database testing with PySpark or Python is desirable.
• Cloud experience, preferably Microsoft Azure, is desirable.
• Performance testing with LoadRunner or JMeter is desirable.
• Retail domain experience is desirable.
