Software Test Automation Engineer

PeopleTec is currently seeking a Software Test Automation Engineer to support our Huntsville, AL location.

This role requires a high level of expertise in creating and executing test plans, unit testing, and end-to-end testing.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for quality assurance, a meticulous eye for detail, and a strong understanding of automation tools and best practices.

• Design, create, and document software development and infrastructure processes, including design specifications and test plans .
• Implement and manage automated testing frameworks and scripts to support efficient, repeatable testing processes.
• Lead the design and execution of unit and end-to-end testing processes to ensure robust, reliable, and high-quality software products.
• Act as a subject matter expert, providing guidance to other team members on automation testing best practices, test case development, and effective testing methodologies.
• Work closely with development, DevOps, and product teams to align on testing strategies, resolve issues, and improve overall testing efficiency.

• 5-10+ years of experience in software testing, with a focus on test automation.
• Proficiency in test automation tools such as Selenium, Cypress, or similar frameworks.
• Strong understanding of testing methodologies including unit testing, integration testing, and end-to-end testing.
• Experience in test plan creation for complex applications, with a deep understanding of functional, regression, and performance testing.
• Excellent communication skills: Ability to clearly document and explain testing procedures and results to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Familiarity with GitLab for code repositories and pipelines
• Ability to work effectively within a collaborative environment composed of Government, Prime Contractor, Support Contractor, and other Government agencies/personnel.
