Role Overview
Philips is seeking an Application Security Engineer with strong software engineering experience in Java and/or C#/.NET.
The role drives security throughout the software development lifecycle.
The engineer designs, builds, reviews, and secures cloud-native applications, APIs, and microservices.
Core Responsibilities
- Collaborate with engineering, architecture, DevOps, cloud, and product teams.
- Embed security controls across enterprise platforms.
- Identify vulnerabilities and ensure secure-by-design solutions.
- Perform threat modeling exercises and vulnerability risk assessments.
- Triage and remediate vulnerabilities identified through penetration testing.
Technical Expertise
- Secure software development using Java, Spring Boot, Spring Security, C#, ASP.NET Core, or .NET Framework/.NET Core.
- Strong understanding of secure coding standards.
- Strong understanding of application security.
- Experience with identity and access management, role-based access control, secrets management, data protection, and encryption.
