About the Role
The role is based in BT's Networks division within the Martini team, which delivers network performance monitoring and fault detection capabilities.
The position supports network reliability by helping Network Operations teams detect and resolve faults faster and reduce customer-impacting outages.
The role contributes to proactive network management and improved mean time to detect and repair.
What You Will Do
- Design and build Java backend services using multichannel architecture, data modelling, and integration patterns.
- Provide development estimates from high-level requirements and communicate regularly with stakeholders and customers.
- Work with relational and columnar databases and caching technologies.
- Perform root-cause analysis on production issues and drive timely resolution.
- Build automation to reduce recurring errors and improve Network Operations user experience.
- Lead and mentor backend developers through code reviews, pair programming, and engineering standards.
- Shape scalable, maintainable system architecture and own CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes.
