Role overview
Microsoft Commerce supports monetization across Azure, Microsoft 365, Copilot, marketplaces, subscriptions, and other global offerings.
The role is a Principal Software Engineer working across AI, cloud computing, distributed systems, commerce platforms, and business transformation.
The position will help define intelligent commerce capabilities and AI-native product experiences.
Core responsibilities
- Architect and build scalable, secure, resilient distributed commerce platforms.
- Drive technical strategy across services, domains, and engineering teams.
- Design cloud-native solutions for mission-critical workloads.
- Solve cross-organizational performance, scale, reliability, and operational challenges.
- Define long-term platform evolution aligned with business and product goals.
AI-native engineering
- Build systems using Generative AI, LLMs, agentic AI, RAG, vector databases, orchestration frameworks, and AI agents.
- Define AI product patterns, evaluation frameworks, quality gates, observability, and governance.
- Apply Responsible AI principles and design effective human-AI collaboration.
