Role Overview
Develop advanced software tools for the design, simulation, integration, and manufacturing of complex quantum systems.
Build modular software environments connecting models, data, and engineering workflows across technical domains.
Initial applications include digital twins and design automation for quantum sensing systems, with broader work supporting quantum-system development, manufacturing, testing, and deployment.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain modular platforms across RF, optical, mechanical, atomic-physics, and related domains.
- Build interfaces between engineering and scientific-computing tools for simulation, analysis, optimization, and design.
- Support MBSE by connecting requirements, models, interfaces, parameters, verification data, and system performance.
- Develop HPC- and GPU-enabled workflows for parameter sweeps, sensitivity analysis, tolerance studies, optimization, and simulation.
- Apply optimization, reduced-order modeling, surrogate modeling, machine learning, and data-driven methods to engineering design.
- Develop APIs, data models, schemas, visualization tools, and workflow orchestration for heterogeneous engineering tools.
- Validate models against experimental data and translate engineering needs into maintainable production software.
- Use AI-assisted tools for development, testing, documentation, debugging, code review, and engineering analysis.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or master's degree in a closely related technical field such as computer science, physics, engineering, or applied mathematics.
- Strong scientific or engineering software-development experience with high proficiency in Python.
- Familiarity with modern numerical and scientific-computing libraries.
- Experience integrating simulation, modeling, engineering, or scientific-computing tools.
- Understanding of numerical methods, optimization, simulation, data analysis, or computational modeling.
- Familiarity with systems-engineering concepts and multidisciplinary engineering workflows.
- Experience with version control, automated testing, CI/CD, documentation, modular architecture, and maintainable API design.
- Ability to collaborate with scientists and engineers across multiple technical disciplines.
- Ability and enthusiasm to use modern AI-assisted development tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree in a relevant computational or engineering discipline.
- Experience with MBSE tools, methodologies, or standards such as SysML and requirements traceability.
- Experience with Ansys, Zemax OpticStudio, SolidWorks, COMSOL, MATLAB/Simulink, or similar platforms.
- Experience with digital twins, simulation orchestration, engineering automation, or model-based design.
- Experience with machine learning, surrogate modeling, Bayesian optimization, uncertainty quantification, or design-space exploration.
- Familiarity with quantum technologies, optical systems, RF systems, atomic physics, or precision sensing.
- Experience with HPC, GPU acceleration, distributed computing, or cloud-based scientific computing.
- Experience applying generative AI, coding agents, or AI-enabled tools in scientific or engineering software development.
Compensation
- The posting states a salary range of USD 135,000–175,000.
- The benefits section states a salary range of USD 145,000–170,000 per year.
