Role overview
Build plugins, SDKs, and shared libraries used by Unity and Unreal game projects.
Work in small teams to create reusable, documented solutions for other engineers.
Provide technical expertise, establish best practices, and drive innovation in library development.
Responsibilities
- Design and maintain reusable Unity and Unreal plugins, SDKs, and libraries with native Android and iOS layers.
- Own API versioning, backward compatibility, deprecation paths, and upgrade guides.
- Package and distribute libraries through UPM, .unitypackage, or Unreal plugin formats.
- Diagnose dependency conflicts, build failures, engine and OS fragmentation, and managed/native lifecycle issues.
- Create sample projects, integration documentation, and automated tests.
- Collaborate with game development teams, estimate effort, and support roadmap execution.
- Ensure architecture, code quality, performance, and efficiency meet high standards.
- Participate in code and design reviews and refine AI-assisted engineering workflows.
Plugin and library expertise
- Design stable API surfaces and manage semantic versioning across multiple live projects.
- Apply JNI and Objective-C/Swift bridging, marshalling, and memory ownership across managed and native code.
