About the Role
Viega LLC is seeking a Software Engineer to develop and support Warehouse Management System (WMS) functions for distribution centers. Responsibilities include programming, database maintenance, troubleshooting, and report generation.

Responsibilities
- Code, test and troubleshoot programs utilizing appropriate hardware, database, and programming technology
- Maintain and modify programs; make approved changes by amending flow charts and UML diagrams, develop detailed programming logic, and coding changes
- Analyze user requirements and design new software solutions
- Develop code or written programs from scratch in a mission critical, distributed, real time environment
- Develop web applications that interface with multiple computer systems
- Collaborate with cross functional teams and participate in requirements, design and code reviews
- Assist in managing the day to day applications of the WMS functions for all distribution centers
- Analyze database data; make recommendations to improve performance and efficiency of data storage and other database features
- Design, document and test integration processes that extract, transform, load and cleanse corporate data
- Respond to requests for technical assistance in person, via phone or electronically; diagnose and resolve technical hardware and software issues
- Perform technical root cause analysis and outline corrective action for given problems
- Create, design and maintain reports for daily, weekly and monthly operations
Requirements
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
- 3 5 years of professional programming experience
- Knowledge of computer programs: Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Word, Outlook and SAP
- Knowledge and development experience with various technologies including but not limited to SQL, C++, Java, HTML, Javascript, JSP, CSS, PHP and Oracle
- Knowledge of warehouse management software
- Knowledge of computer flow charts and of programming logic and codes
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to understand source code
- Ability to communicate both orally and in writing with all levels of the organization
- Ability to Multi task and meet deadlines
- Ability to write technical instructions in the use of programs and/or program modifications

Job Description Summary
- The Software Engineer is responsible for developing and supporting Warehouse Management System (WMS) functions for all distribution centers, including maintenance, business analysis, technical design, software development, vendor management, quality assurance, implementation and support.
What You'll Do
- Programming: Codes, tests and troubleshoots programs utilizing the appropriate hardware, database, and programming technology; refines data and formats final product.
- Maintains and modifies programs; makes approved changes by amending flow charts and UML diagrams, develops detailed programming logic, and coding changes.
- Analyze user requirements and design new software solutions.
- Develops code or written programs from scratch in a mission critical, distributed, real time environment.
- Develops web applications that interface with multiple computer systems.
- Collaborates with cross functional teams and participates in requirements, design and code reviews.
- Database and Systems Maintenance: Assists in managing the day to day applications of the WMS functions for all distribution centers.
- Identifies and continuously acts to enhance individual and team knowledge of new technologies, business processes, and project management skills.
- Analyzes database data; makes recommendations to improve performance and efficiency of data storage and other database features; performs data modeling and optimization.
- Assists in performing validation procedure testing.
- Plans methods to test code to support changes in business and/or changes in regulatory requirements that effect reporting or record keeping.

Education, Certification/License & Work Experience
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
- 3 5 years of professional programming experience
- C++ certification preferred
- Professional experience using STL, AJAX, Webservices, REST, Tomcat and MySQL preferred
Compensation
- Base: $72,000 $91,000 annually, based on specific compensable factors including, but not limited to education, work experience, and geographic market.
- Bonus: This role will be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program.
