Software Engineer — Notification Hub & Experience

Influence and People Development

• Coordinate projects across engineers and multiple workstreams, including timelines and dependencies.
• Document systems, transfer knowledge, and eliminate single points of failure.
• Mentor and grow E4 and E5 engineers through reviews and coaching.
• Raise the team's technical skill in AI fluency and high-scale backend engineering.

Reliability and Engineering Excellence

• Own end-to-end notification delivery reliability.
• Drive SLA improvements, reduce latency, and eliminate systemic failure modes.
• Champion observability, operational hygiene, and developer productivity improvements.

Required Qualifications

• At least 7 years of backend engineering experience with demonstrated Staff-level impact.
• Experience driving large, ambiguous, cross-functional projects with organization-wide or company-wide outcomes.
• Strong proficiency in one or more backend languages, including Go, Java, Python, C++, Kotlin, or similar.
• Deep experience designing and scaling distributed systems handling massive event volumes.
• Ability to work from long-horizon strategy through detailed system design with business focus.
• Strong written and verbal communication and ability to influence without formal authority.
• AI fluency with deep experience applying AI in software development.
• Product-minded approach focused on business impact.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building notification, messaging, or communications platforms at scale.
• Production integration of ML or AI systems, including model serving, feature pipelines, real-time inference, or experimentation infrastructure.
• Familiarity with recommendation or personalization systems.
• Experience with LLM integration in production services.

Compensation

• Base salary varies by employee work location and includes opportunities for equity grants.
• Listed Canadian base salary ranges are $120,000–$150,000 for I4, $149,500–$187,000 for I5, and $185,000–$231,500 for I6.
