Role Overview
Rakuten Rewards is seeking a Software Engineer 2 focused on authentication, authorization, and account security within its native iOS app.
The role shapes secure access and account-protection experiences for millions of Rakuten members.
The engineer will work closely with backend identity, product, security, and UX partners.
Feature Development and Delivery
- Manage technical tasks within assigned projects and meet timelines and specifications.
- Analyze requirements and recommend optimal solutions.
- Code, debug, and maintain application modules for performance and reliability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and implement updates and patches.
- Recommend solutions that improve user experience and system capabilities.
iOS Authentication and Security
- Build native iOS security features and web-based authentication flows rendered through WKWebView.
- Implement bidirectional communication between native iOS code and WebView authentication forms.
- Use biometric authentication, public-key cryptography, Secure Enclave, and Keychain capabilities.
- Integrate authentication experiences with backend identity services through RESTful APIs.
