Role Overview
Caterpillar is seeking a seasoned software engineering professional to lead and mentor a cross-functional team while contributing as an individual contributor.
The role requires a strong foundation in mobile and web technologies and Agile practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a cross-functional development team with product owners and stakeholders.
- Own key features, write production-grade code, and contribute as a hands-on team lead.
- Drive sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and backlog grooming.
- Architect scalable solutions through high-level and low-level design.
- Deliver end-to-end development across four consecutive sprint cycles.
- Develop native Android or iOS applications and hybrid applications using Ionic or PhoneGap.
- Integrate native plugins with Cordova or Capacitor and build AngularJS web front ends.
- Implement responsive interfaces and manage state with RxJS or NgRx.
- Write unit tests with Karma and Jasmine.
- Oversee CI/CD pipelines, code reviews, and performance and security practices.
Experience Requirements
- At least 5 years of software engineering experience.
- At least 1 year of native mobile development experience on Android or iOS.
- At least 2 years of Angular development experience.
- Proven experience in team coaching and stakeholder coordination.
- Strong high-level and low-level technical design skills.
- Strong analytical, debugging, coding, and problem-solving skills.
Core Skills
- Ionic, PhoneGap, Cordova, and Capacitor.
- AngularJS, JavaScript or TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3, and SCSS.
- RxJS, NgRx, RESTful APIs, Git, Jira, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Scrum or Kanban Agile methodologies.
- Karma and Jasmine testing frameworks.
