Role Overview
State Farm is hiring a Software Engineer or Lead Software Engineer for its Temporal Platform team.
The role builds, operates, and evolves an enterprise workflow orchestration platform using Temporal Cloud.
The position combines software engineering, platform engineering, cloud technologies, and DevOps practices.
Workplace
- The position is hybrid, with time split between working from home and an office.
- Qualified candidates must live within a 180-mile radius of a hub in Bloomington, Dallas, Atlanta, or Tempe.
Responsibilities
- Design and maintain reusable Temporal Cloud platform services and capabilities.
- Develop SDKs, libraries, templates, and reference implementations.
- Partner with application teams on reliable long-running workflows and integrations.
- Build automation that improves developer productivity, reliability, and operational efficiency.
- Implement observability solutions including metrics, logging, alerting, and distributed tracing.
- Establish enterprise standards, best practices, and governance for workflow development.
- Collaborate with cloud, security, architecture, and product teams.
- Investigate production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement improvements.
