Senior Software Engineer, AI Applications (Full-Stack Generalist) Team: AI Scribe Experience: 5+ years Summary We're looking for a strong generalist engineer who is comfortable working across the entire system — not just one layer of it.
Our AI scribe platform spans a Next.js PWA (browser and server), multiple TypeScript microservices, AWS cloud infrastructure, Kafka event pipelines, and AI agent orchestration.
We don't need someone who specializes in one piece.
We need someone who can understand and contribute to all of them.
This is a role for an engineer who picks up whatever needs to be done, builds context quickly, and delivers.
You might wire up a new React component in the morning, debug a Kafka consumer in the afternoon, and adjust a Terraform module before EOD.
You're not intimidated by unfamiliar territory — you learn systems fast and ask good questions.
Deliver features end-to-end: from React UI through Next.js server actions, into backing APIs, and out through event pipelines Work across the full TypeScript service landscape (encounters API, practice API, event bridge, PM integration consumer) Contribute to AWS infrastructure (Terraform, ECS/EKS, S3, Secrets Manager) when the team needs it Collaborate on AI agent development and integration — understanding how LLM-based agents fit into the clinical workflow Debug cross-service issues by tracing requests through the browser, server, APIs, message queues, and cloud services Improve developer tooling, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment processes as a natural byproduct of your work Help define technical direction — you see the full picture and can identify where the system's seams are weakest What You Bring 5+ years of professional software engineering experience Strong TypeScript skills across both browser (React) and server (Node.js) environments Experience with Next.js or similar full-stack frameworks (server components, API routes, server actions) Comfort with cloud infrastructure — you've worked with AWS services, written Terraform or CloudFormation, and debugged production deployments Experience with event-driven systems (Kafka, SQS, or similar message brokers) Ability to context-switch between domains without losing depth — you go deep when needed, then zoom back out Self-directed: you identify what needs to be done and do it without waiting for detailed tickets Nice to Have Experience with AI/LLM agent frameworks and orchestration patterns Healthcare domain knowledge or experience with EMR systems Familiarity with Kubernetes, Helm, and GitOps workflows Experience with real-time audio/streaming applications Background in DevOps or platform engineering Experience with feature flagging systems (LaunchDarkly
