About the Platform Team

The Platform Engineering team builds core infrastructure, tools, and shared services that help engineering teams deliver reliable, secure, and scalable features.

The team owns mission-critical foundational systems supporting nearly 1,000 engineers and products across HR, IT, and Finance.

What You Will Do

  • Design, implement, and test reliable backend services and APIs for core product features and business logic at scale.
  • Work across API design, data modeling, event modeling, and service performance optimization.
  • Own features from implementation and testing through deployment, monitoring, and production support.
  • Contribute to technical discovery and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

What You Will Need

  • At least two years of professional backend engineering experience.
  • Strong experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL.
  • Production experience with Python, Go, or a similar language is preferred.
  • Ability to balance technical craft, business impact, delivery speed, and commercial outcomes.
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environments with changing product needs.
  • Excellent communication skills for explaining complex technical ideas clearly.

Workplace Policy

  • For office-based employees within a defined radius of a Rippling office, working in the office at least three days per week is currently considered an essential function.

Compensation

  • The role offers a competitive salary, benefits, and equity.
  • The US Tier 1 pay range is 152,000 to 225,000 USD per year, with the final amount depending on location, experience, and other factors.
