The Role
Own the hardware-in-the-loop test infrastructure used to run real flight software against real or emulated spacecraft hardware.
Extend existing tooling into a reusable platform that supports multiple concurrent flight programs.
Treat internal engineering teams as customers of the test infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate hardware-in-the-loop test infrastructure for spacecraft hardware and flight software.
- Develop hardware emulation and simulation for unavailable or scarce spacecraft subsystems.
- Automate test orchestration, scheduling, reporting, and continuous integration workflows.
- Configure and maintain HITL racks, lab equipment, power interfaces, data interfaces, and instrumentation.
- Partner with flight software, electrical, and systems teams to define coverage and validate releases.
- Investigate anomalies, perform root cause analysis, and distinguish infrastructure issues from product defects.
