Role Overview

Responsibilities

• Translate customer review workflows into agent capabilities such as dashboards, analysis scripts, and telemetry insights.
• Design, ship, and operate agentic systems over large-scale time-series data and hardware domain context.
• Build tool interfaces, sandboxed code execution, context and memory management, skills, and guardrails.
• Develop and maintain Sift's MCP server for direct telemetry queries.
• Build frontend experiences and APIs for agentic capabilities.
• Run agent workloads reliably at scale in cloud and on-premises environments.
• Build evaluation suites and monitor quality, latency, cost, and production failure modes.
• Integrate and assess frontier models across providers.

Required Skills

• At least 3 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Experience building frontend web applications with React, Next.js, or similar technologies.
• Experience building APIs or backend services with Go, Python, Rust, or similar technologies.
• Curiosity about new AI products, agents, models, and features.
• Ability to own a product area, work with customers, decide what to build, and ship it.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience shipping products at scale or with significant technical complexity.
• Experience shipping LLM-powered features or building agentic systems.
• Experience with MCP, sandboxed execution, Kubernetes, observability, or incident response.
• Background in time-series data, scientific computing, hardware testing, or telemetry.

Technology Environment

• Relevant technologies include React, Redux, TypeScript, Go, gRPC, PostgreSQL, Protobuf, Rust, and data systems such as Arrow, DataFusion, Flink, and Parquet.
• Infrastructure technologies include AWS, Docker, GitHub Actions, Grafana, Kubernetes, Linux, Prometheus, Argo CD, Kustomize, and Terragrunt.

Workplace

• The role is based in Marina del Rey, California, with in-person collaboration twice weekly on Mondays and Thursdays.
• The company also gathers for a full week every two months and may consider relocation to Los Angeles or work from its San Francisco office.

Compensation

• Salary range is $160,000-$200,000 per year, plus equity and benefits.
