The position
Join FanDuel's Sportsbook engineering team as a Software Engineer focused on React Native and React.
Work on foundational engineering that improves frameworks, tooling, performance, and developer experience.
Contribute to the React Native Sportsbook application and improve the quality and scalability of its core codebase.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the core React Native codebase supporting the Sportsbook application.
- Improve application launch performance and broader performance.
- Build and maintain frameworks, tooling, and shared components for feature teams.
- Collaborate across engineering domains on cross-cutting technical challenges.
- Balance performance, maintainability, and scalability when implementing solutions.
- Participate in code reviews, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.
- Join the on-call rota and share out-of-hours incident response duties.
- Contribute to technical discussions and engineering community initiatives.
- Own tasks and deliver features from implementation through release with support from senior team members.
What we are looking for
- Bring two to three years of experience building mobile applications.
- Have strong practical experience with React Native or React.
- Show interest in performance optimization, tooling, frameworks, and application features.
- Have familiarity with mobile development best practices and testing approaches.
- Exposure to Agile development and collaborative team environments is desirable.
- Native Android or iOS development experience is a plus.
- Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and the ability to evaluate technical trade-offs with guidance.
