Scale AI is building enterprise Generative AI products through foundational services, APIs, and production-scale infrastructure.
The role is a Backend Software Engineer position focused on bringing large-scale Generative AI systems into production.
The work supports AI products deployed across Scale's and customers' infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and scale backend systems for enterprise Generative AI products.
- Develop secure, efficient APIs integrating AI models and enterprise data sources.
- Architect distributed systems for data processing, inference, and workload orchestration.
- Optimize systems for latency, throughput, cost, reliability, and scalability.
- Manage cloud infrastructure across AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Drive automation, observability, and security for large-scale AI deployments.
- Collaborate with ML and product teams on model serving, APIs, and evaluation frameworks.
- Continuously improve the robustness, maintainability, and enterprise readiness of AI systems.
Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience developing large-scale backend or infrastructure systems.
