The employer is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for a contract role supporting a platform serving global users.
The role focuses on designing and implementing scalable software solutions, maintaining backend services, optimizing performance, and collaborating across functions.
Location and Work Arrangement
- The role is remote and allows work from anywhere.
Contract and Payout
- The engagement is contract-based and pays $50–$100 per hour.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services using modern programming languages and frameworks.
- Optimize system performance to support scalability and reliability for a growing user base.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to define and implement new features.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following best practices and coding standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues to minimize downtime and improve user experience.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Proficiency in at least one backend programming language such as Python, Java, or Go.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and system design principles.
- Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL database systems.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or comparable containerization and orchestration tools.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Ability to write unit and integration tests.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
