Role overview
Amazon's PXT Case Management Systems team builds AI-powered tools that improve HR support for employees worldwide.
The role focuses on scalable, secure platform features that combine AWS services with generative AI.
The team develops the Unified Service Console and solutions for People Services teams.
Key job responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable and secure platform features end-to-end in alignment with AWS best practices.
- Build AI-powered capabilities using AWS services to automate routine support steps and provide intelligent recommendations.
- Implement reliable integrations across HR systems with data security and compliance built in.
- Partner with product and business stakeholders to translate ambiguous requirements into shipping software.
- Own service operational health by investigating alarms, conducting root cause analyses, and improving reliability.
- Mentor junior engineers through code reviews, design discussions, and onboarding support.
Typical work
- Write maintainable, well-structured, and testable code and submit changes for code review.
- Design systems for Amazon-scale problems and present design documents to build team consensus.
- Participate in operations reviews to understand system health and maintain service availability.
- Meet customers to understand their problems, brainstorm solutions, and inform team priorities.
- Research technologies that could simplify the team's systems and resolve customer-reported issues.

The team belongs to Amazon's People eXperience and Technology organization.
Its mission is to provide swift, accurate, and personalized HR support while reducing manual effort and improving operational efficiency.
Current initiatives include generative AI solutions and features that enhance employee support experiences.
Basic qualifications
- At least 3 years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- At least 2 years of experience designing or architecting new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
Preferred qualifications
- At least 3 years of full software development lifecycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations.
