Software Development Engineer in Test

Quality and Collaboration

• Collaborate with software engineers, QA engineers, and product managers throughout the development lifecycle.
• Ensure sprint functionality is comprehensively tested and use automation wherever possible.
• Document, track, and monitor software defects through their complete lifecycle.
• Maintain test results, analyze trends, and recommend improvements to testing processes and quality practices.
• Debug test failures and distinguish product defects from test issues.
• Share technical knowledge with manual testers to promote automation adoption.

Required Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least two years of recent hands-on experience developing UI and API automation with open-source tools.
• Demonstrated experience working in Agile or Scrum development environments.

Required Technical Skills

• Strong proficiency with Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or equivalent UI automation tools.
• Experience testing SOAP and REST services using Postman, RestAssured, or similar tools.
• Strong object-oriented programming skills and practical coding ability.
• Experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, C#, Java, or another scripting language.
• Experience with Git, GitLab, Azure DevOps, or another source control system.
• Hands-on experience with Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or equivalent CI/CD platforms.

Quality and Collaboration Qualifications

• Understanding of quality assurance methods, manual and automated black box testing, test design, coverage strategies, and quality metrics.
• Strong analytical, communication, debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to collaborate in cross-functional Agile teams and learn new technologies, tools, and frameworks.
• Willingness to overlap with US Eastern Time for at least four hours and work in EST during sprint cycles.

Preferred Skills and Technologies

• Advanced SQL, BDD, TDD, cloud infrastructure, test management, performance testing, Docker, Kubernetes, security testing, or mocking framework experience is preferred.
• Healthcare domain knowledge, HIPAA awareness, or regulated industry experience is preferred.

Location and Work Arrangement

• The position is based in the Bangalore, India office and values in-person collaboration while supporting flexible work arrangements.
• The role requires overlap with US Eastern Standard Time during sprint cycles.
