About the Team

The Checkout team owns the booking experience across Expedia Group brands.

The team develops the web checkout UI, the API layer behind it, and the conversion funnel for each trip.

The team uses experimentation and measurement to improve conversion, reliability, and speed.

In This Role, You Will

  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain high-quality user interface software.
  • Deliver reliable, accessible, and intuitive customer experiences.
  • Translate product requirements into scalable solutions using modern frontend technologies.
  • Contribute to low-level system design, API design, and data modeling.
  • Collaborate across engineering, product, design, and other technical domains.
  • Integrate and operate AI/ML-enabled solutions that improve product and engineering outcomes.
  • Participate in code reviews, automated testing, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.
  • Strengthen software quality, performance, security, and operational reliability.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • At least 2 years of professional software development experience, including user interface applications.
  • Experience owning features or components through design, implementation, testing, deployment, and support.
  • Proficiency with frontend development, API integration, data modeling, version control, automated testing, and debugging.
  • Familiarity with low-level system design and maintainable, reliable, and secure software solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience delivering user interface products at scale with focus on performance, accessibility, usability, and operational excellence.
  • Ability to make data-driven technical decisions, diagnose complex issues, and improve production application reliability.
  • Experience contributing to architecture and design decisions across multiple services or technical domains.
  • Practical experience using AI-assisted development tools or applying AI/ML concepts to products or workflows.
  • Experience integrating, monitoring, and operating AI/ML-enabled features in user interface applications.
