Role Overview
AWS CloudFront's control plane governs configuration, policy, and certificate operations across more than 700 edge locations.
The team is building an intelligent layer that connects customer intent with safe infrastructure execution across CloudFront, WAF, and Shield.
The role is for an SDE II working across distributed systems, applied AI, and developer experience.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Build agentic console experiences with conversational interfaces, real-time visualization, and observability.
- Create agent skills, protocols, and tooling that safely configure, observe, and optimize edge infrastructure.
- Architect autonomous planning systems for validated multi-service infrastructure operations at global scale.
- Develop proactive detection and recommendation engines for security, performance, and configuration drift.
- Add natural-language interaction grounded in real-time telemetry.
- Create Terraform modules and CDK patterns that simplify infrastructure-as-code workflows.
- Own features through design, implementation, testing, deployment, and production operation.
- Collaborate across AI/ML, application security, observability, product, design, and partner teams.
- Establish engineering patterns, testing strategies, runbooks, and architectural standards.
- Mentor engineers, participate in design and code reviews, and join the on-call rotation.
