Software Development Engineer 2 (SDE-2)

Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance RESTful APIs using NestJS.
• Manage PostgreSQL and other relational databases, including schema design and query optimization.
• Write clean, maintainable, and testable code using SOLID and DRY principles.
• Build backend services with TypeScript and JavaScript and implement microservices integrations.
• Optimize performance, implement security best practices, and address scalability concerns.
• Collaborate with frontend developers, DevOps engineers, and product managers.
• Implement unit and integration tests and conduct peer code reviews.
• Mentor junior developers and improve coding standards.

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of software development experience focused on NestJS, TypeScript, and JavaScript.
• Hands-on experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL, including schema design, query optimization, and indexing.
• Proficiency with TypeORM, Prisma, or Sequelize and strong knowledge of RESTful API design.
• Experience with authentication and authorization mechanisms such as JWT, OAuth, or RBAC.
• Understanding of Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• Experience with Redis or Memcached caching mechanisms.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with event-driven architecture using Kafka, RabbitMQ, or NATS.
• Knowledge of serverless computing using AWS Lambda or Azure Functions.
• Exposure to frontend technologies such as React or Angular is nice to have.
