Role Overview

We are looking for a hands-on Technical Operations & Software Systems Engineer to support the complete technology environment across software platforms, IT infrastructure, devices, operational systems, vendor-managed solutions, and property technology.

The role will report directly to the Head of Technology and will act as a key technical support and execution resource for day-to-day troubleshooting, coding support, system coordination, documentation, vendor follow-up, and operational readiness.

This is not a basic IT support role.

The ideal candidate should have coding knowledge, strong technical problem solving ability, a good understanding of networks and infrastructure, and the willingness to understand different technology systems used across the business.

The selected candidate will work closely with the internal network engineer, device/electronics technician, software team, vendors, and operations team to ensure all technology systems remain stable, connected, secure, and operational.

1. Software & Coding Support

1.

Support the Head of Technology in coding, debugging, testing, and implementation tasks.

2.

Understand application flows across internal software platforms, web dashboards, mobile applications, operational tools, and backend systems

3.

Assist in identifying bugs, replicating issues, checking logs, testing APIs, and coordinating fixes with developers

4.

Support small development tasks, scripts, integrations, automation flows, and technical utilities where required

5.

Understand backend flows, databases, APIs, authentication, error logs, and deployment-related issues.

2. Systems Operations & Technical Ownership** **Support

1.

The daily operation of all technology systems used across the business.

Monitor, test, and validate that critical systems are working as expected.

2.

Take ownership of reported issues and follow through until they are resolved.

Maintain clear documentation of systems, vendors, dependencies, support contacts, access points, and escalation paths.

3.

Assist in preparing systems before launches, events, operational rollouts, and live usage.

Identify repeated issues and suggest practical long-term fixes.

3. Infrastructure & Network Coordination**

1.

Work closely with the network engineer to support Wi-Fi, LAN, routers, switches, IP configuration, DNS, firewalls, ports, VPNs, and related infrastructure.

2.

Understand network-level issues well enough to troubleshoot, explain, coordinate, and escalate properly.

3.

Help verify whether issues are related to software, network, device, vendor system, or configuration.

4.

Support basic cloud, server, hosting, and deployment-level checks where required.

5.

Assist in maintaining a stable and secure technical environment.

4. Devices, MDM & Operational Technology**

1.

Work with the device/electronics technician to manage tablets, staff devices, scanners, printers, card systems, and other operational hardware.

2.

Support Mobile Device Management policies, kiosk mode, access restrictions, app availability, device readiness, and user-level controls.

3.

Coordinate device setup, testing, troubleshooting, replacement, and documentation.

4.

Ensure devices used by staff and operations are properly configured, controlled, and ready for use.

5.

Support testing of hardware and software interaction across operational workflows.

5. Vendor Systems & Integrations**

1.

Coordinate with vendors for third-party systems, operational platforms, building technology, access systems, communication systems, and other technology solutions.

2.

Communicate technical issues clearly with vendors and ensure proper follow-up until closure.

3.

Validate vendor fixes before closing issues.

Maintain vendor documentation, technical references, configuration notes, and support contacts.

4.

Support integration testing between internal software systems and third-party platforms.

5.

Ensure vendor dependencies, pending actions, and open issues are tracked properly.

6. Access, Security & Property Technology** **Support

1.

The technical coordination of access control, smart locks, identity-based access flows, card-based access, QR/barcode flows, and related integrations.

2.

Work with relevant vendors and internal teams to ensure access systems are reliable and correctly configured.

3.

Assist in testing end-to-end access scenarios from software to physical device behavior.

4.

Support operational checks for access systems before important events, openings, or member-facing usage.

7. Documentation & Reporting**

1.

Maintain system documentation, issue logs, vendor follow-up trackers, testing reports, and technical SOPs.

2.

Provide regular updates to the Head of Technology on open issues, risks, pending vendor actions, and system readiness.

3.

Document repeated issues, root causes, workarounds, and permanent fixes.

Maintain organized records of system configurations, support processes, and escalation paths.

4.

Ensure technical information is properly captured so that the team is not dependent on verbal knowledge alone.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong technical problem-solving ability.
  • Ability to read, understand, and write code.
  • Working knowledge of Python, JavaScript, Node.js, React, SQL, or similar technologies.
  • Good understanding of APIs, databases, backend flows, logs, and integrations.
  • Good understanding of networking concepts including IPs, DNS, routers, switches, firewalls, ports, Wi-Fi, and VPNs.
  • Ability to troubleshoot across software, network, device, and vendor-system layers.
  • Basic understanding of cloud/server environments, deployments, and system monitoring.
  • Ability to work with operational systems, access systems, device management platforms, vendor applications, and infrastructure tools.
  • Strong documentation and follow-up discipline.
  • Good communication skills for dealing with vendors, internal teams, operations teams, and management.
  • Willingness to learn unfamiliar systems quickly.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering or a related field.
  • Prior experience in hospitality, smart buildings, property technology, system integration, or enterprise software support.
  • Experience with dashboards, mobile apps, APIs, databases, device management, infrastructure tools, or vendor integrations.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams including software developers, IT engineers, operations staff, and external vendors.

Candidate Profile

  • The ideal candidate should be hands-on, responsible, technically curious, and comfortable working across multiple areas.
  • The candidate should not wait for every instruction, but should be able to investigate issues, coordinate with the right teams, follow up with vendors, support coding tasks, and close issues independently.
  • This person will be expected to become the technical bridge between software, IT infrastructure, devices, vendor systems, and operations.

Role Success Criteria

  • Technology issues are tracked, followed up, and closed properly.
  • Systems are tested and ready before operational use. Vendors are managed with clear technical communication. Software bugs and integration issues are identified and explained properly.
  • Devices, access systems, dashboards, infrastructure, and operational systems remain stable.
  • The Head of Technology receives strong technical execution support. Documentation improves and repeated issues reduce over time.
  • The business has a reliable technical point of coordination across software, infrastructure, devices, vendors, and operations.

Summary

This role is intended for a technically strong and responsible individual who can support both software and technology operations.

The person should be able to code, understand systems, troubleshoot issues, coordinate with vendors, work with internal technical resources, and support the Head of Technology in ensuring that all technology systems are reliable, documented, and operational.
