Position #: 187234 Expected Start Date: October 13, 2026 Union: HSAS Facility: Nurses Alumni Wing City/Town: Saskatoon Department: Mental Health Community Clinics&Programs - Response to Violence Type: Full-time temporary Expected Up to Date: April 08, 2027 FTE: 1 Shift Information: Days Number of Hours per Rotation: shifts of 224 hours per 6 weeks Relief: No Float: No Hours of Work: Field Hours Salary or Pay Band: Pay Band Social Worker - MSW $40.983 to $50.114 Travel Required: No Job Description: This position within the Response to Violence program provides services to individuals to enable them to stop their violence toward their intimate partner. The incumbent will co-facilitate groups, maintain appropriate partner contact, and provide short term crisis counseling, referral and advocacy as required in both the sex offender treatment program and the alternatives to violence area. The incumbent will actively contribute to program evaluation and development and assist with the day to day administration of the program. This position is located at City Hospital. "Preference for this position will be given to HSAS members in accordance with the terms and conditions of the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement" Human Resources Exemption: No Experience

• One year experience working with adults in a mental health setting

• Master of Social Work (MSW)

• Saskatchewan Association of Social Workers (SASW)

• Experience and expertise working in groups is an asset

• Advanced - Counseling skills
• Advanced - Interpersonal skills
• Intermediate - Public speaking skills
• Advanced - Verbal communication skills
• Basic - Organizational skills

Knowledge and Abilities

• Ability to work in a cross cultural setting
• Ability to work with individuals who are violent and/or sexually offend
• Ability to work with a variety of individuals presenting with complex issues
• Knowledge in various mental disorders, etiology, treatment and intervention
• Knowledge in applicable best practice models/current research/relapse prevention
• An understanding of community-based programs
• Ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
• High degree of comfort in dealing with suicidal ideation
• Ability to work effectively with individuals who are First Nations or Metis
• Ability to work with individuals from a variety of cultural & ethnic backgrounds
• Knowledge in family violence issues; sexual offending and domestic violence
