Skilled Upholster

Responsibilities

• Cut, shape, and apply fabric, leather, and specialist upholstery materials to furniture frames with precision and care
• Prepare and restore frames, applying webbing, springs, foam, and padding in line with traditional and contemporary techniques
• Read and interpret technical drawings, design briefs, and client specifications to deliver accurate and faithful results
• Carry out repairs, restoration, and reupholstery of existing furniture pieces to the highest standard
• Ensure all finished pieces meet Alma's quality control benchmarks before sign off and delivery
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workshop environment at all times
• Collaborate with designers and project managers throughout the production process, providing updates and flagging potential issues proactively
• Source and evaluate materials, advising on suitability based on durability, aesthetics, and client requirements
• Handle specialty and high end fabrics including velvets, silks, leathers, and technical performance textiles
