Role Overview
Staff Site Reliability and HPC Infrastructure Engineer role supporting the compute infrastructure behind Synopsys engineering and EDA workloads.
The role focuses on large-scale compute performance, workload scheduling, capacity planning, automation, reliability, and technical leadership.
The position is listed as not remote eligible.
HPC Infrastructure
- Design, build, and optimize large-scale HPC compute-farm platforms supporting thousands of engineering workloads across global sites.
- Administer and tune IBM Spectrum LSF, Slurm, or equivalent workload schedulers.
- Lead capacity planning and workload optimization based on engineering demand and infrastructure requirements.
- Improve compute utilization, queue times, workload throughput, and platform resilience.
Automation and Troubleshooting
- Drive Python and Shell automation to reduce manual work, improve reliability, and accelerate incident response.
- Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis across storage, networking, LDAP, NFS, and scheduler layers.
- Use monitoring and observability practices to support proactive incident detection and platform reliability.
