Site Reliability Engineer II

Role Overview

Job Responsibilities

• Contribute to problem management through evidence collection, timeline building, root-cause analysis, and action items.
• Build Python, Shell, and Ansible automation for health checks, data collection, and configuration validation.
• Participate in network-service incident management, including monitoring, triage, troubleshooting, mitigation, and escalation.
• Reduce operational toil through systems engineering and application-code improvements.
• Troubleshoot routing, switching, firewalls, load balancers, proxies, SD-WAN, SDA, and software-defined networking.
• Use authorized AI capabilities to support incident analysis and identify recurring toil and reliability risks.
• Apply SRE practices covering reliability, operational readiness, nonfunctional requirements, and introductory FMEA.
• Support SRE best-practice adoption and complete the SRE Bar Raiser Program.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Formal Site Reliability training or certification and at least 2 years of applied experience are required.
• Experience with network operations or engineering and incident/problem management practices is required.
• Hands-on Python or Shell and Ansible automation experience is required.
• Practical routing and switching troubleshooting plus firewall, load balancer, or proxy experience is required.
• Experience with authorized AI capabilities, validation, data sensitivity, resiliency, security, and auditability is required.
• Cloud infrastructure, SRE concepts, observability, SLO alerting, telemetry, containers or Linux/Windows, and emerging CI/CD knowledge are required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Exposure to Cisco ACI or network fabrics is preferred.
• CCNA or another vendor certification is preferred.
• Experience in a financial institution environment is preferred.
