About the Role
The Site Reliability Engineer 2 for Managed Gateways will support the reliability, scalability, and performance of Kong's critical managed services.
The role focuses on product stability, customer trust, and highly available core infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Automate deployment and operation of managed gateways across multiple cloud environments.
- Monitor system health, performance, and uptime with a target of 99.99% availability.
- Resolve production incidents and participate in on-call rotations.
- Build resilient reliability and operational tooling.
- Prevent technical debt and support sustainable, scalable operations.
- Collaborate with engineering teams on resilient and scalable services.
Required Experience and Skills
- Require at least 2 years of production experience applying Site Reliability Engineering principles.
- Require proficiency in at least one of Golang or Python for automation, tooling, and infrastructure as code.
- Require hands-on Kubernetes experience and experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Require familiarity with monitoring, logging, and alerting tools.
- Require understanding of networking, distributed systems, and API gateways.
