Role Overview
The Site Quantity Surveyor will manage the commercial and financial aspects of infrastructure projects from inception to completion.
The role focuses on cost control, accounts, claims, procurement, contract administration, risk management, and stakeholder coordination.
Cost and Commercial Management
- Manage project costs and profitability while adhering to approved budgets.
- Prepare and submit interim and final accounts, variations, claims, and valuations.
- Negotiate contract terms, valuations, and final accounts with clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
- Identify, assess, and manage commercial risks and opportunities.
Procurement and Site Monitoring
- Procure and manage subcontractors and suppliers in accordance with contract terms and specifications.
- Conduct site visits to monitor progress, quality, and compliance with contract documents.
Reporting and Dispute Resolution
- Prepare and present regular cost reports and financial forecasts to project management and stakeholders.
- Resolve contractual disputes and claims while minimizing financial and legal exposure.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, and company policies.
- Build strong working relationships with project teams, clients, and other stakeholders.
Requirements
- Experience managing and controlling project costs from inception to completion.
- Experience preparing interim and final accounts, variations, claims, valuations, and cost reports.
- Ability to negotiate contract terms, valuations, final accounts, and commercial settlements with project stakeholders.
- Knowledge of subcontractor and supplier procurement, contract compliance, and project specifications.
- Ability to identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ability to resolve contractual disputes and claims while limiting financial and legal exposure.
- Experience monitoring construction progress, quality, and compliance through site visits.
