Role overview
The Site Mechanical Engineer is responsible for supervision, coordination, and execution of mechanical works for structural steel fabrication and erection.
The role supports railway and highway bridge projects and requires coordination with project stakeholders to meet timelines and specifications.
Fabrication and erection
- Supervise on-site fabrication and erection of structural steel components including girders, trusses, and box girders.
- Supervise steel structure erection using cranes, launching girders, and other heavy lifting equipment.
- Manage site activities related to fabrication and erection of steel bridges and heavy structures.
Coordination and compliance
- Coordinate with consultants, contractors, planning, QA/QC, safety, and other internal departments.
- Ensure mechanical works comply with quality standards, safety protocols, project specifications, and timelines.
Qualifications and experience
- B. Tech in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
- 2-6 years of experience in site execution of steel bridge fabrication and erection.
