Position Overview
The role is Site Manager — Mechanical / Piping for a desalination and reverse osmosis plant project.
The position is based in Ras Laffan, Qatar, and is full-time with in-person work at the project site.
The manager is responsible for safe, efficient, and timely execution according to drawings, specifications, quality standards, and client requirements.
Key Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
- Extensive Site Manager or Construction Manager experience on major industrial projects is required.
- Strong GCC oil and gas construction experience is mandatory.
- Desalination or reverse osmosis plant experience is highly preferred.
- Strong experience in metallic or process piping, mechanical equipment installation, and construction activities is required.
- Knowledge of piping fabrication, erection, welding, testing, and mechanical completion is required.
Management and Coordination Requirements
- Ability to manage large site manpower, supervisors, engineers, and subcontractors.
- Experience in manpower planning, material coordination, work-front management, and construction scheduling.
- Ability to handle project delays, material shortages, and manpower constraints effectively.
- Experience coordinating with clients, consultants, QA/QC, HSE, planning, and engineering teams.
- Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Qatar or Ras Laffan project experience is an advantage.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage overall site execution and daily construction activities.
- Coordinate manpower, materials, and equipment and monitor progress against schedule.
- Resolve site and technical issues and supervise mechanical and piping works.
- Ensure HSE and QA/QC compliance and coordinate with the client and project management team.
- Ensure timely mechanical completion, testing, punch-list clearance, and handover.
Availability
- Candidates must be able to work effectively under pressure and meet project deadlines.
- Immediate or short-notice candidates are preferred.
Compensation
- Pay is 12,000–18,000 Qatari riyals per month.
