About the Role

  • We are looking for an experienced Simulator Electrical / Hardware Technician to join our team based at Al Majma’ah Airbase, working on advanced Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) simulators.
  • In this role you will be part of a team of 3 technicians responsible for maintenance and repair of existing fleet of 3 UAV Simulators 2 Generic Mission Training devices and 1 Desktop system.
  • This role will be technically varied, giving you the opportunity to work on modern simulators, systems, and equipment to enhance your technical knowledge.
  • Current working hours are 0700 1500 Sunday to Thursday.

Key Tasks

  • Identifying, finding and solving problems in complex flight simulation systems.
  • Checks updates and bug fixes at subsystem level with the test engineer/pilot.
  • Support for the integration of data, updates, software and hardware and exchange of various assemblies.
  • Calibration of instruments.
  • Functional testing of systems.
  • Detailed fault analysis and rectification or repair of the source of the fault / components.
  • Learn and perform preventive maintenance tasks on the simulators and associated simulator systems.
  • Assist in diagnosing and correcting problems on the simulators and associated simulator systems.
  • Utilize maintenance management systems to record and track maintenance activities.
  • Perform pre flight and post flight checks on all simulators.
  • Perform visual calibrations.
  • Run automatic Qualification Test Guide (QTG).

About You

  • Ideally you will hold relevant Technical qualifications as well as have some work experience in an electronic, avionic, or technical field as a technician or similar.
  • Strong experience in electrical engineering and hardware engineering.
  • Experience of working with Software (you don’t need to write code).
  • Computer literate (PC and/or computer mainframe/architecture).
  • Some experience in soldering and circuit board repairs preferred.
  • Some knowledge of Microsoft Office tools and suite.
  • Practical, analytical mindset with great troubleshooting skills.
  • High level of communication and teamwork skills.
