About the Role
Transdev is seeking a Shop Foreman to perform A-level mechanic duties and supervise mechanics and maintenance personnel at its Capitol Heights, MD location. The role involves scheduling repairs, ensuring safety compliance, and managing a team.

Responsibilities
- Perform duties of an A level mechanic including PMs and preparing buses for DOT inspections
- Supervise mechanics, service employees, and other maintenance personnel
- Schedule repairs and maintenance of LNG and diesel powered equipment
- Ensure environment meets safety and regulatory requirements
- Monitor daily contractual maintenance obligations
- Evaluate performance of new and current employees
- Facilitate and schedule training of employees
- Participate in interview panels for maintenance positions
- Monitor budget at sectional level
- Conduct daily safety/shift turnover meetings
- Create and review work orders for repairs
- Assign work to mechanics based on qualifications
Requirements
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent
- Valid CDL Class B (or higher) with passenger and airbrake endorsements preferred
- 7+ years experience in repair and maintenance of heavy duty automotive and transit equipment
- 3+ years of supervisory experience
- Broad understanding of all mechanical systems related to heavy duty transportation vehicles
- Familiarity with laws and regulations associated with safe operation of maintenance facilities
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed

Job Overview

- Supervises mechanics, investigates, and administers employee discipline.
- Evaluates performance of new and current employees.
- Facilitates and schedules training.

- Schedules major and minor repairs.
- Creates and reviews work orders.
- Assigns work to mechanics.
- Makes on the spot repair decisions.
Qualifications

Compensation and Benefits
- Competitive compensation package of minimum $43.75 maximum $48.80 per hour.
- Vacation: minimum of two weeks.
- Sick days: 5 days.
- Holidays: 12 days (8 standard and 4 floating).

Physical Requirements
- Work outside in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions.
