Shipping & Receiving Assistant

The Shipping & Receiving Assistant will have completed Grade 12 supplemented by courses in office procedures and administration or related experience. In addition, the incumbent will have at least two (2) years of experience in a retail or warehouse setting. Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) and familiarity with electronic point-of-sale systems is required. Some art related knowledge/education is an asset.

Ability to think innovatively and creatively in planning and developing a fresh approach to

existing activities, with a continuous improvement perspective and incorporating best practices

Demonstrated excellence in customer service; ability to provide consistently high-quality customer service and create welcoming experiences for diverse audiences

Demonstrated knowledge and experience in inventory management

Ability to establish good relationships and deal effectively with visitors, callers and staff and promote a positive public image

Some knowledge of Art Gallery exhibition programmes and activities

Strong conflict management skills

Ability to stand for up to eight hours per shift; ability to lift and carry and move boxes from floor to shelf height

Willing to work varying shifts, including evenings and weekends
