Promote and actively participate in the safety process to ensure safe working practices within the plant, targeting hazard recognition and injury prevention.
Have a solid understanding of all safety procedures and practices.
Monitor production coming through the plant with the production planners on customer priorities Fosters the values and habits consistent with RHIM culture.
Gain knowledge of all planning areas to fully understand the bottle necks and how downtime and efficiencies impact the schedule.
Interface with Customer Service, Sales and production personnel to ensure optimal balancing of inventory and customer demands for shipment.
Maintain inventory targets where appropriate, ensuring targets are kept up to date to meet customer requirements while maintaining planned inventory levels.
Utilize the management system to meet established goals and objectives and drive continual improvement.
Generate daily and weekly reports.
Position requires training as backup(s) to support the departmental needs.
Assist in the coordination of process improvement implementations.
Coordinate with other departments to develop and maintain scheduling parameters.
Ability to effectively multi-task in a very fast paced environment is a must. Internal fortitude to make the tough, but correct, decisions when faced with competing interests from various departments (internal and external customers). Professional attitude and approach to work. Strong analytical skills. Strong experience with MRP/ERP systems (SAP). Proficient with Microsoft Office applications. Excellent communication skills (written and verbal). Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of changing situations.
