Position Summary

Caterpillar is hiring a Shipping and Logistics Coordinator for the Middle East business.

The role coordinates inbound and outbound shipments, customs and trade compliance, documentation, shipment visibility, and customer order delivery.

The position interfaces with logistics, warehouse, operations, customer service, finance, quality, and external logistics providers.

Shipment Coordination

  • Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments across air, sea, road, and courier networks.
  • Manage freight bookings, monitor shipment progress, resolve delays and exceptions, and coordinate urgent shipments.
  • Ensure customer and business delivery commitments are achieved.

Documentation and Customs

  • Prepare and validate commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates, declarations, and shipping documents.
  • Verify commodity descriptions, HS codes, values, origin information, and Incoterms.
  • Support customs clearance, UAE Customs and Free Zone compliance, audits, investigations, and corrective actions.

Logistics Operations

  • Coordinate daily activities across warehouse, operations, quality, customer service, and finance teams.
  • Support inventory movements, intercompany transfers, shipment readiness, GRN verification, reconciliations, and inventory records.
  • Process logistics transactions accurately within ERP systems.

Tracking and Vendor Management

  • Maintain shipment trackers and provide regular visibility updates and logistics KPI reports.
  • Act as the day-to-day contact for freight forwarders and transportation providers.
  • Monitor service levels, freight costs, carrier performance, and logistics supplier issues.

Improvement and Regulatory Support

  • Coordinate product certification and approval documentation and maintain export certification records.
  • Improve logistics processes, SOPs, data accuracy, shipment visibility, lead times, and operational efficiency.
  • Support automation and digitalization initiatives within logistics operations.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Diploma or bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, international trade, or a related discipline is required.
  • Relevant experience in logistics, shipping, import/export coordination, freight forwarding, or supply chain operations is required.
  • Five to seven years of experience and related international shipment, customs, inventory, and provider-management experience are listed for top candidates.
  • Oil and gas experience is highly desirable; manufacturing, industrial equipment, or related industrial experience is an asset.

Workplace

  • This is a full-time, office-based position requiring regular onsite presence.
