Role Overview
The Shift In-Charge manages day-to-day operations during an assigned shift.
The role oversees shift teams, productivity, quality, operational issues, and timely target completion.
Shift Operations
- Manage and supervise all activities during the assigned shift.
- Allocate manpower and work responsibilities based on operational requirements.
- Ensure smooth and timely completion of daily shift targets.
- Monitor productivity, quality, attendance, and team performance.
Coordination and Compliance
- Coordinate with production, warehouse, dispatch, quality, and other relevant teams.
- Ensure adherence to SOPs, safety guidelines, and company policies.
- Identify operational issues, take corrective action, and escalate major concerns.
- Maintain discipline on the shop floor or warehouse floor.
Records and Handover
- Maintain shift reports, production or dispatch records, and operational data.
- Ensure proper handover of pending tasks and issues to the next shift.
- Monitor the availability and proper use of materials, equipment, and other resources.
- Support continuous improvement to increase productivity and reduce operational losses.
Requirements
- Graduate or diploma in operations, manufacturing, supply chain, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in shift operations.
- Experience in manufacturing, warehousing, FMCG, or D2C operations is preferred.
- Prior experience managing operators or workers is required.
Required Capabilities
- Good understanding of shift planning, manpower management, and operational processes.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Basic knowledge of MS Excel and operational reporting.
- Comfort working in a hands-on, fast-paced operational environment.
