Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated, patient, and highly skilled

Shadow Teacher

to provide one-on-one behavioral and academic support for a 1st-grade student diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and/or ADHD.

The successful candidate will work directly within the classroom environment to help the student navigate the school day, bridge social-communication gaps, manage transitions, and implement positive behavior support strategies.

The primary goal is to foster independence, ensuring the student can fully access the school curriculum and integrate socially with peers while minimizing classroom disruptions.

Key Responsibilitiesbehavioral & Social Support

  • Implement individualized behavior intervention plans utilizing principles of

Applied Behavior Analysis (Aba)

  • .
  • Prompt and reinforce positive behaviors, emotional regulation, and attentiveness during lessons.
  • Redirect challenging behaviors using proactive, non-punitive, and respectful strategies.
  • Facilitate peer interactions and social skills during recess, group work, and unstructured school activities.

Academic Support

  • Modify and adapt classroom instructions or tasks in real-time to match the student’s learning pace and attention span, without altering the core curriculum objectives.
  • Keep the student focused on the class teacher’s instructions using visual schedules, token economies, or specific prompts.
  • Assist the student in organizing school materials, managing transitions between subjects, and navigating the physical school environment.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Work collaboratively with the core classroom teachers, school counselors, and external therapists (BCBA, speech therapists, etc.).
  • Maintain objective, daily tracking logs regarding the student’s behavioral and academic progress.
  • Provide regular, professional updates to parents regarding daily achievements and areas of focus.

Requirements & Qualificationslanguage Skills

  • **Strong command of the English language (fluent or native-speaker level)**
  • is mandatory, as all classroom instructions, curriculum delivery, and professional reporting will be in English.

Experience & Knowledge

  • **Must be directly familiar with ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) therapy principles**
  • and have practical experience applying them in a clinical or educational setting.
  • Proven experience working with young children (ages 5–8) diagnosed with Autism, ADHD, or related developmental/behavioral needs.
  • Understanding of classroom dynamics and how to support a student discreetly to avoid fostering over-dependency.

Location & Legality

  • **Must be currently based in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.**
  • Must possess a valid, transferable Iqama or legally compliant residency status permitting work in Jeddah.

Personal Attributes

  • Exceptional patience, emotional resilience, and adaptability.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to blend seamlessly into a school environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A degree or certification in Special Education, Psychology, Early Childhood Education, or a related field.
  • Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification is highly advantageous.
